Apparitions was nominated for 2 awards at the prestigious Septimius Awards in Amsterdam, The Netherlands - we went along to the ceremony and were blown away when our lead, Cate O'Connor, took home the prize for Best Oceanian Actress!!! We were also nominated for Best Oceanian Film, but were defeated by Unjoo Moon's I Am Woman. A huge thanks to the jury of the Septimius Awards for voting for us and bestowing Cate with this award, and for putting on such an incredible show!
Apparitions makes its US big screen premiere at the Alamo Drafthouse Winchester for the HORRIFIC HOPE HORROR FILM FESTIVAL - and WINS BEST FEATURE!!!
Apparitions screened with a host of terrific short films (Noel, Only Escape and The Tell-Tale Heart) as part of the 'Imaginary Friends' block on Saturday April 30th -- and we WON BEST FEATURE!!! We were sad we couldn't be there to present the film or accept our award, but we thank them for their thoughtful selection! Check out their work at https://www.victimsandvillains.net/horrifichope
With only nightmares for childhood memories, Lily Stone returns to her family home to find out what happened to the parents she never knew. Despite the locals’ warnings about an evil presence cursing the house, Lily crosses the threshold and discovers not all the ghosts that haunt us are dead. Apparitions is an exploration of fear, family and identity, of being confronted with a legacy of horrors perpetrated by your own flesh and blood.
Filmed over 24 days with a main cast of 7 and a small but ridiculously talented crew, the company faced rain, hail, wasps — and a scratchy-tongued pub cat who wanted to be adopted by the crew — to create this fun Australian road trip through the history of horror. We hope you enjoy it. \Written, produced and directed by Perri Cummings and Paul Anthony Nelson, Apparitions stars newcomer Cate O'Connor as Lily Stone alongside Cummings (Trench), Shanon Kulupach (Spin Out), Fabio Motta, Kristina Benton, Ilana Gelbart, Lana Golja, with Wayne Tunks and star (and icon!) of TV's Neighbours, Stefan Dennis. It was shot by Tim Egan (award-winning short films Curve and Troll Bridge) with makeup and SFX by Mia-Kate Russell (Scare Campaign, 2040, What If It Works? and her own award-winning short films Maggie May, Liz Drives, Death by Muff and Swallow), and music composed by Adam Rudegeair (of Lake Minnetonka, Trench). Now available on DVD in the US through 4Digital Media via Amazon! |
