Here at Cinema Viscera, we are committed to creating delicious, devious, defiantly different cinematic experiences for a 21st century audience.
WHO THE HECK ARE WE?
CINEMA VISCERA are an internationally award-winning independent film production collective in Melbourne, Australia, formed by writer/director/editor Paul Anthony Nelson and actor/writer Perri Cummings, to make micro-to-low-budget feature films that fill the gaps; the kind of stories people aren’t telling, genres neglected, or classic stories told in a fresh, bold fashion.
Our films to date are:
Trench (2017): our first feature film is a girl-powered comedy/film noir set in modern-day Melbourne, about a reclusive writer (Perri Cummings) troubled by a mysterious stalker, and the broke standup comic turned amateur detective (Samantha Hill) who comes to her aid. Will her first case be the death of them?
Cigarette (2016): a cautionary fable about the wreckage of modern gender relations. When a woman (Rebecca Fortuna) invites her date (Ryan Heath) up to her apartment, she surprises him by performing an impromptu striptease. But is this a seduction... or an evaluation? And will he fail horribly?
Talkback (2011): a horror fable about an average housewife whose mind is homicidally infected by a bigoted talk show host, made as T is for Talk Radio for Drafthouse Films’ ABCs of Death competition.
Scope (2010): a tale of female assassins and fond homage to 1970s action films, made as Paul Anthony Nelson’s Diploma graduation film at RMIT.
Why Must The Show Go On? (2010): a mockumentary comedy set in the aggressively misguided world of off-fringe-fringe theatre, made as a co-production with Incognita Enterprises.
Interchange (2008): a micro-multi-stranding drama about six people and how football touches their lives, was our inaugural short film production and won a Bronze Medal in the Super Short Film competition at the 2012 Los Angeles All Sports Film Festival.
So, who are the demented souls running this outfit?
